About EU4LMI Project
The EU for Labour Market Inclusion (EU4LMI) aims to strengthen inclusive and active employment and skills models in the 19 targeted municipalities of Prrenjas, Gjirokaster, Vore, Mallakaster, Cerrik, Librazhd,Shijak, Kavaje, Kurbin, Kukes, Kruje, Pogradec, Korce, Kamez, Vlore, Shkoder, Elbasan, Durres and Tirane, scaling up models active labour market programmes (ALMPs) and skills development programme. The project is funded by the European Union and is implemented by UNDP, The Swedish Public Employment Service (Arbetsförmedlingen) and the Albanian Disability Rights Foundation.
The purpose of the project is to 'Enhance the partnerships of the National Agency for Employment and Skills with municipalities so that at the end all labour market actors establish and deliver inclusive and integrated employment and skills development for beneficiaries of cash assistance, NEET, Persons with Disabilities, and young mothers not in employment.
The project is aligned with the Government of Albania's National Employment and Skills Strategy 2023-2030 and addresses Albania's labor market challenges, which include high youth unemployment, significant gender employment gap and high informality. By working closely with local and national stakeholders, the project strengthens the role of labor market actors to deliver integrated employment and social services that help bridge the gap for vulnerable populations.
